FERNAO NETWORKS ACQUIRES DATADIRECT

With the acquisition of the IT security specialists datadirect GmbH, which conducts business in Asia, the FERNAO group is opening up new opportunities in the international IT security market.

As of yesterday, the IT security specialists datadirect GmbH based in Freiburg is now a part of FERNAO Networks Holding. This is the second acquisition this year, increasing the number of FERNAO companies to seven.

Their new subsidiary will give the FERNAO group access to the Chinese market, as well as additional know-how in IT security and networking. The Freiburg-based company, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary today, provides support and IT project management to small, medium, large companies and organizations throughout southwestern Germany. The implementation of global IT infrastructure for multinational corporations is increasingly demanding the presence of IT specialists in the emerging Chinese market.

This prompted datadirect GmbH to found a subsidiary, datadirect Taicang Ltd., in 2009, allowing them to offer on-site IT security and network services to Chinese branches of German companies, as well as a secure connection to Germany, without any language or culture barriers.

The acquisition gives FERNAO Networks 100% share ownership of datadirect GmbH. The long-standing co-owner and managing director Thomas Nieberle will continue to oversee the operations of the company.
