By acquiring xiv-consult, FERNAO Networks is consistently continuing its strategic growth course. In this way, the Cologne-based company consolidates its position on the market as a full-service contact for IT security.

FERNAO Networks, one of the leading full service providers for IT security, is expanding its portfolio in the area of information security consulting (ISC) through the acquisition of xiv-consult. The focus is on advising companies on the design and implementation of management systems in the areas of information security, risk management and business continuity.
The experts at xiv-consult GmbH are now enriching the FERNAO Group's range of IT services with their more than 20 years of consulting expertise. The company, based in Cologne, specializes in protecting information within companies and groups of companies. Xiv-consult deals with the entire security process - starting with strategic planning, risk management and the analysis of information security to the selection of suitable protective measures. Against the background of increasingly complex attacks and high regulatory requirements, which are particularly subject to companies from the KRITIS environment and the financial services sector, FERNAO is specifically expanding its ISC business area. Individual advice is an important entry point for FERNAO in order to be able to supply companies with security solutions from a single source and to prevent security risks as best as possible.
With the merger of the companies, the FERNAO Group now employs around 580 people at 17 locations. The IT security specialist is also consolidating its strategic expansion plan. The xiv-consult owner Prof. Dr. Oliver Weissmann operationally manage the company as managing director. As a professor for information security at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences and co-editor of ISO 27002 and other standards in the field of information security and data protection, he also brings exclusive know-how to the entire group of companies.
